Mercon Seminar at Kalmar Castle
On May 8, Mercon AB invited a large number of manufacturing companies to a seminar on the theme of "Sweden's industrial market & the keys to greater competitiveness." Professor Tony Fang lectured, much appreciated, on China as a market and producing country. Tony is the editor of the book "Doing business in today's China," which is described by Kurt Hellström, former President and CEO, LM Ericsson, as a very important book for Swedish industry and for those who want to do business in China. Anders Kinnander, professor of manufacturing systems at Chalmers, Department of Product- and Production Development, gave a status picture of the Swedish productivity situation and found that we have a huge untapped potential that, if it were used, would mean both a significantly improved competitiveness of Swedish companies and a greater prosperity for the entire country.
Fredrik Persson, associate professor in the Department of Production Economics at Linköping University and a co-worker at Mercon AB, reported how a company's productivity can be efficiently analyzed.
